United Arab Emirates (UAE) is one of the progressing One Day International teams who have won ACC Trophy four times consecutively between 2000 and 2006 and finished as runners-up in the other three times. United Arab Emirates was selected as affiliate member by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1989 and as an associate member in 1990. They played their first One Day International in 1994 and won the ICC Trophy that year. Later they played in the 1996 Cricket World Cup. UAE qualified for the 2015 World Cup picking second position behind Scotland.
UAE have the best international standard cricket stadiums as compared to other associate members. They have the stadiums like Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai and Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. Good performance in 2014 World Cup Qualifier earned UAE place in 2015 World Cup and ODI status until 2018. UAE has contested 24 One Day Internationals (ODIs) with 20.83% win average, succeeding in 5, and losing 19. It has also played 6 Twenty20 Internationals, but has lost all.
